Stonemason from Urban to Country, Yesteryear and Today

Stonemason from Urban to Country, Yesteryear and Today

I am a big fan of Stonemason. Who is Stonemason? He is a DAZ3D Premier Artist who specializes in architectural 3d models. Ok that might be understating. Some of his latest offerings are HUGE scenes so get ready to give your computers a work out. Fortunately, Stonemason understands that not all of us have the latest and biggest systems so they are often broken down into smaller "pieces". Another thing that Stonemason is known for is high quality textures which helps adds more realism to the scenes.

His scenes range from cityscapes, sci fi, natural environments, interiors and buildings. Oh and he does have some great robots.

Many of his earlier products include textures for both Poser and DAZ Studio but earlier this year he dropped Poser textures in favour of Iray. He even has a couple of earlier products which include files for Vue. However, Vue users will find that his products work well in that software as well as DAZ Studio.

One of his latest is "Urban Sprawl 3". This is an extremely large cityscape consisting of 5 huge city blocks; think New York City! And it has so many nooks and crannies, that if you only can afford one of his product, Urban Sprawl will give you many different scene options. The post's cover image shows a small part of Block 4 – there are 5 blocks in Urban Sprawl 3 and also includes vehicle props like the bus seen in the image. The post's cover image was rendered in Iray.

The Streets of Asia is perhaps one of the best known scenes for DAZ Studio users and is one of the Stonemason products which also has Vue files. There are two later additions to The Streets of Asia but only the first one has the included Vue scene.

One of my favourite Stonemason products has to be The Village Courtyard. There are 3 sets which can be bought separately or as The Village Courtyard bundle which is the best deal as it has all three at more than half the price of the 3 separately!. This scene features a large manor surrounding a courtyard. This one is great for historical or modern renders. It does particularly well in Iray using Sun-Sky settings.

There are a variety of "the streets of" available which include The Streets of Old London, The Streets of Tuscany, The Streets of Asia or The Streets of the Mediterranean (this one includes Vue files) and all very versatile offering a different perspective on every corner.

Also a Stonemason theme are the ruins props, from urban to castle to jungle ruins. Complete ruined buildings, trashed vehicles or just rubble to populate your scene.

One of the nicest tree props made for DAZ Studio is Stonemason's Japanese Maples. The trees come in full size and also as bonsai. Piles of leaves are included.

The Streets of Asia and Japanese Maples were used in this Iray render.

And then there is the Sci Fi …. Lots of great Sci Fi scenes and props. His Prototype robot can often be seen in renders. Check out his store as I guarantee there is something for everyone and all of the highest quality.

Happy Renderings!
