Today we'll look at some fun products to "make up" your characters. First, I'm going to talk briefly about Merchant Resources. If a product is labeled as a Merchant Resource, it can be used to develop your own characters and materials which might eventually be offered for sale. If it is not labeled as Merchant Resource this would mean it is for use in your own renders. At the end of this post I have included one product which is a merchant resource.
Many of the makeup, wound and tattoo products use the Layered Image Editor (L.I.E.), though some add the effects as geometry shells.
Most female characters come equipped with makeup, lips and other options but if you want to personalize your characters, there are some really great options. With the Premier Artists sale on now, I have a few in my wishlist at DAZ3D that I'd like to add to my collection.
One that I do have is Forbidden Whispers' Extreme Closeup: Makeup for Genesis 3 Female(s). This set uses the L.I.E. and makeup options can be layered onto your character to make interesting effects. There are also full face presets if you are in a rush, however you may need to have Karen 7 to make those work. The post's cover image uses this product.
Extreme Closeup is a line of products by Forbidden Whispers and include several makeup packages: Psychedelic, High Fashion, Geisha and Kabuki makeups for Genesis 3 figures as well as Freckles, Henna, Wounds for Genesis 2 figures.
Neikdian, another DAZ3D vendor, has some interesting makeup and tattoo products for Genesis 3 figures in their store. If you want to go wild there are a couple of Artistic Make-up Concepts for Genesis 3 Female(s) items and Warrior makeup packages for both Genesis 3 female and male, in addition to ordinary makeup sets. And if you are into tattoos there are some great looking tattoo packages.
I do have one Merchant Resource makeup package which I bought on a whim. SS Makeover Merchant Resource for Genesis 3 Figures by 3D Sublime Productions and Sabby. I haven't really delved into it yet but if you are looking for a subtler look this may be the way to go. I can confirm that it works in GIMP if you don't have Photoshop.
